DR ALEC WORTLEY'S WEBSITE TO UNDERGO FURTHER UPDATES!

Dr Alec Wortley's website is to undergo some further developments to celebrate the one year anniversary of the first pages being put online. Additional pages will be added, and some of the existing content will be linked in to the site more intrinsically. The first stage of updates is scheduled before September 13th, with the process due for completion by the end of October. Watch this space for more details as and when they become available!

DR ALEC WORTLEY FOOTBALL TEAM PAGE ONLINE AND NEW PHOTOS ADDED!

Dr Alec Wortley's Football Team page is now online, including some new pictures of the team and the trophies they won!

DR ALEC WORTLEY'S 5 A SIDE FOOTBALL TEAM 1999 - 2002

The team was formed from members of the Highfield School football team who won the Midlands under 18 title during one year.
Alec Wortley’s company at the time Electracatch International sponsored the Highfield School 1st 11 team shirts at the school – see photo.
The 6 a side team was formed after Richard’s request and we played on Friday evenings at Sixes in Kingswinford.

The following players played in the teams over the 3 years. Initially we played in Newcastle United shirts but after a few weeks it was decided by team members to change the team shirts and it was agreed to change to the Dutch National Team shirts which are orange with black trimming. At the end these were given to the Manager of a youth team so hopefully they are still bringing good luck to the wearers!

Team players:
Jason Hill, Richard Wortley, David Thompson, John Hart, Andrew Shirley, Lee Vickers, Gary Brown, Simon Hardall, Lee Sadler, Richard Showell, Paul Fothergill, John Nedrick, Levon Mullen, Trevor Bowater.

We won the Premier Friday night league 4 times and were runners up 4 times at Sixes in Kingswinford . Whenever we won the league the team were all invited to a night out with free drinks and dinner at a local restaurant. The photos show one such dinner held at the Harvester pub in Penn. Other dinners were held at Chinese and Italian restaurants in Wolverhampton and a good time was had by all. On one occasion the lack of a convenient toilet caused one player to obtain relief where he was standing and on another a decorative plant was removed by another player under his coat.

Often one team or another would be short of a player and one of the Six’s staff would play for us to make up the numbers. One of these was Big Dave who had a shot like a cannonball.

ELECTRIC FISHING MACHINE STILL WORKING AFTER 30 YEARS SERVICED BY ALEC WORTLEY OF ELECTRAFISH LIMITED.

An electric fishing machine was brought in for service to Electrafish recently having worked since 1981, apparently without having been serviced! The electric fishing machine, built by Dr Alec Wortley's company, was still working fine and can be seen below - click on the image to view full size. Thanks to Colin for the superb quality photograph!

Dr. Alec Wortley is pleased to announce the formation of Electrafish Limited - Reliable High Quality Electric Fishing Machines - a new company based in Wolverhampton offering the following services to a high standard:

Design, consultancy and manufacture of all electric fishing equipment to new designs.
All new designs of electric fishing portable and generator powered gear carry a 3 year warranty and have been designed especially for reliability, durability and performance.
The new electric fishing equipment covers a wide range of portable and generator powered gear, as well as a wide range of electrodes and electric fishing generators in compliance with the latest national and international specifications.
On site testing to E.A. Standards can be carried out on site or at our workshops and the testing price includes, for example, any basic repairs to the original electric fishing machines and anodes, as well as labelling all parts and issuing test certificates.
All spares are kept in stock at our workshop and we are pleased to visit any part of the UK for testing/servicing on a 24/7 basis to suit your requirements.
Electrafish has a policy of excellent customer service, since we are totally aware that when a purchaser buys expensive fishing equipment, not only are they paying due regard to the quality, reputation and reliability of the equipment, but also to the level and speed of service, warranty and support.
One example of our new product line is a new backpack type FC400BPS40, supplied complete and with a 400 watt rating and 40/60 PPS pulsed DC and smooth DC outputs at £3,200 plus VAT. This price is inclusive of delivery charges within the UK and a 3 year warranty.
